An entry form submitted by Lau Sieh Chiong from Sibu was adjudged the overall winner in Sports Toto's Super Toto 6/49 "Big Giveaway" contest. He won a free eight-day six-night tour for two to Mauritius.
In appreciation of the strong supports by Toto punters to Toto games over the years, Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd decided to organize a Super Toto 6/49 "Big Giveaway" contest in March this year. The one-month contest received overwhelming response from the general public. The company received total of 165,000 entries when the contest ended on 23rd April 2003.
Sports Toto Malaysia executive director Ng Foo Leong said, because of the huge number of entries received, the selection committee had been having a tough time in selecting the winners.
The Chinese slogan submitted by Lau "free of worries, live in comfort, Super Toto, win big with small investment, miracles do happen" won the winner a free eight-day six-night package to Mauritius.
There are nine categories of prizes for the contest. The prizes offered are: 2nd prize (five winners) three-day two-night holiday package for two to Pulau Tioman with return economy air ticket, 3rd prize (five winners) 29" Singer Television, 4th & 5th prize (five winners each) electrical equipment, 6th prize (five winners) bicycle, 7th to 9th prize (altogether 180 winners) Toto products.
Listed below were 2nd and 3rd prize winners. :
2nd prize winners: 1. Lee Wai Yuen, Choo Bun Peng (both from KL), Chew Yoke Ying (Pahang), Tay Hock Eng (Penang) and Lee Seng Hua (Johore).
3rd prize winner: Lee Ah See (Penang), Lee Wai Leong, Ragavan M. (Both from KL), Tan Fong Hing and Yeo Pek Kian (both from Johore).
Present at the prize presentation ceremony were Sports Toto deputy general manager (Sales & Marketing) Ms Tan Swee Lian and another deputy general manager (Admin & Security) Lee Siew Chye.
