When two hot 4D numbers were respectively drawn as the first prize and second prize winning numbers in a special Toto draw held last Tuesday, underground 4D operators were in a quandary. They had accepted too many bets on these two sets of number and they found it very difficulty to pay the prize money in full to the winners.
There has been few " broke the bank" incidents for the underground 4D operators these days, but when 3228 and 3344 were drawn as the first and second prize winning numbers in a special Toto Draw last Tuesday, the illegal operators were badly hit.
This paper received calls from readers today complaining that they were unable to claim their winnings from illegal 4D operators. They were told by the runner of the underground operators that because of too many winners for these two numbers, the winners would not get their prize money for the time being.
Since last Tuesday's draw was a special draw, which means that only one gaming company was accepting bets from punters. Naturally, 4D punters were trying their luck with this particular gaming company.
To illegal 4D operators, the drawing of the two hot 4D numbers as big prize winning number had dealt a severe blow to them. Causing them to lose big sum of money but it is generally believed these illegal operators will not be able to make the payouts in full.
Not decision yet on the quantum of prizemoney
Based on enquiries made by this paper from several sources, illegal 4D operators have yet to decide on the quantum of prizemoney to be paid to winners. However, according to previous records, there were incidents whereby the prizemoney was reduced to as low as 20 per cent of the actual prize. Generally, the higher amount one bets, the lesser prizemoney one will be receiving.
For instance, if you placed a ringgit bet in 4D operated by illegal lottery syndicate and won the first prize, very likely you will receive the prizemoney in full. However, if your bet is RM10, then you might not be able to receive your prizemoney in full and it could be lower that 50 per cent of the actual prizemoney. In the 4D directory, 3228 is a string while 3344 is a tent.
